萩・長門旅行２日目は長門市とその沿岸部
を車でドライブしながらの観光でした。

The 2nd day, we were driving around Nagato city and its coastline .

まず仙崎港からの観光船を楽しみたかったのですが、更なる台風接近で
内海で引き返してしまうショートクルーズとなりました。

First we took a sightseeing boat at Senzaki port in Nagato,
however the boat had returned in the inland sea because of typhoon.
That was a shot cruising.

船から降りて本来船から見れるはずだった外海の風景を青海島から
眺めました。着いたとたん激しいゲリラ豪雨に見舞われ全身びしょぬれに
なり本当に一目だけみてUターンしました。

After that we went to Oumi island to see the view of the open sea that
we could see from the boat under normal conditions.
Minute we arrived observation deck, we were hit by a sudden heavy rain,
so we had to go back at a glance.

その後は仙崎市内にある詩人の金子みすゞ記念館へ。
みすゞついては別途書こうと思います。
というわけで日本海の西へと車を進めました。

目指すは竜宮の潮吹きと呼ばれる名所にある元乃隅稲荷神社。
私のドライビングテク？を持ってしても厳しい山沿い海沿いの難道の連続でした。
ナビはすごいです、道の難易度問わずどんな場所へも導いてくれます。
元乃隅神社は想像していた以上に神秘的なところでした。
霊験あらたかなパワースポットとして知られているのだそうですが、
台風接近のこの日は人影もまばらでなおいっそう神聖な雰囲気に包まれておりました。
願い事が叶うと言うこの場所で、闘病中の母の快気をお願いしました。

Then, we headed to Motonosumi-inari shrine which in is placed
at a site called “Ryugu-no-shiofuki”.
This was really sacred and mystic place.
I read that here is a special place which people prayers will come true.
And I prayed for recovery of my Mom fighting disease. 🙂

お参りの後は、その近くの日本棚田１００選にもなっている
東後畑棚田（ひがしうしろばたたなだ）を眺めて今夜の宿へ。

After praying, we moved to Higashiushirobata Tanada.
(Tanada is terraced rice paddies along steep hills.
It’s just one example of beautiful Japanese scenery.)
And we headed to our hotel.

さてそして翌日・・更なる台風大接近で外での観光はちょっと断念。
下関へとドライブして唐戸市場で山口の美味しそうな食材を眺めて
今回の萩・長門旅行の旅は終了したのでした。
・・元之隅稲荷神社で晴れ女に慣れるようにお願いすればよかった！

The last day, we gave up sightseeing outside. well..you already knew that.
Typhoon made the closest approach to US!
So we were driving to Shimonoseki port, and enjoyed to watching Karato Market indoors.
Oh, I forgot to pray in Motonosumi-inari shrine that I hope I become shine women…

＜萩市藍場川沿い＞
＜at Aiba river in Hagi＞

連休に山口県の萩、長門市に旅行してきました。
色々と落ち着かない日々の中、久しぶりの気分転換！
と思いきや超大型台風の影響でお天気は雨／ゲリラ豪雨
時々曇り一瞬晴れ。昨年の北海道の蝦夷梅雨に続く見事な
雨女振りでした。私の写真は何だかいつも曇り空。

I took a trip to Hagi and Nagato city last weekend.
Hagi is known as one of ancient capitals.
Unfortunately, we had bad weather, because typhoon was coming.
So, I always bring rain…

＜from the river＞

初めての萩をまずは川沿いから。
萩八景観光船に乗って。
This is my first visit to Hagi and Nagato.
So, as we begin, we enjoyed a cruise in Hagi.

船を降りるといよいよ雨が降り出しました。
ザァザァ振りの中、萩市内の城下町散策です。
古都の名にふさわしくいにしえの街の雰囲気を今もなお残しておりました。

When we got off the boat, finally it was starting to rain.
We took a stroll through the streets of Hagi castle town in the heavy rain.
Its beauty town still maintained traditional feel.

城下町散策を楽しんだ後は美しい水路が流れる藍場川沿いへ。
雨もちょうど小休止してくれていて傘を持たずに散策できました。
水の管理をしている旧湯川家屋敷では川の水を利用した生活がかつて行われていました。

After that, we moved along Aiba river in which we can see some carps.
For a while the rain took a short break here.

ここ辺りで萩観光は終了。タイミングを待っていたかのような
ゲリラ豪雨宿が降り始め雷雨の中、湯本温泉に向かいました。
台風だから仕方ないか・・。

After this we moved our hot-spring hotel, then
we had SUCH a thunderstorm!
So..it can’t be helped because the typhoon is approaching.
