冬と春の狭間で – between the Winter and the Spring

<Jakuchu-Ito’s art work>

It’s been snowing since morning today.

Now the season exactly is between the Winter and Spring.
Most days are still so cold, however I can find the sigh of
the Spring from place to place.

<Japanese plums which marks the coming of Spring are in full bloom now >

Especially, Ume (Japanese plum) is beautiful at this time.

<pretty Japanese plum flowers>

I like the shape of Japanese plum tree.

So, I deeply understand that Japanese Plum “Ume”
have grabbed ancient painters heart.

<Hiroshige Utagawa “Kameido Ume yashiki”>

<Harunobu Suzuki “yoru no Ume”>

<Jakuchu Ito “setubai yukeizu”>

<Sansetsu Kano “robaizu” meaning old plum >

Time is passing faster than my working plan.
Recently, I’m thinking I should cut out sleeping.
However….”In spring one sleeps a sleep that knows no dawn.”
Sleepiness outstrips Willingness….

I love snow landscape, so if there is much snow on the ground,
I threw down my artist’s material and might go out to take some
snow picture with my camera.
Devil said me “let’s go out together! Snow is so beautiful!”
Angel said me “No, you should stay at home and do what must be done!”
Devil or Angel…..
Eventually, While I wrote this blog, the snow changed to rain.
Angel won.

Finally, I couldn’t take some snow picture this year (maybe),
I attached a snow Meiji shrine photo in 2008.
