北海道旅行ブログ最終回はカモメ達の写真アップです。
I’d like to upload sea gulls photos on the final blog in Hokkaido.

オタモイ海岸周遊と、積丹半島周遊。２度に渡って乗った
周遊船にては船頭さんがカモメ達にちょっとしたエサを
あげてました。お客さんも参加できるこの餌やりは
周遊のちょっとしたイベントになってました。

At Otamoi coastline and Shakotan peninsula,
We enjoyed cruising tours by ship in twice this time.
Skipper (boat man) fed sea gulls and tourist could
participate it.

船めがけて追いかけて来るカモメ達の迫力はすごいものが
あり、、ヒッチコックの「鳥」を思い出させました。
お陰さまで至近距離でのカモメの撮影に成功。
個人的には飛翔する姿形をこんなにも色々な角度で
とらえられたことはすごく嬉しかったりします。
飛んでる鳥をスケッチすることは至難の業ですのでね。
飛んでいるカモメ達のフォルムは実に美しいものでした。

It was impressive to see sea gulls which come flying at boat.
I could take their photos at a close distance.
It was really exciting thing about what I could catch flying shapes
of sea gulls on my camera at a varied angle, because
it’s never easy to sketch flying bird.
I felt that those were really beautiful figures of flying sea gulls.

北海道に行ってものすごく感動したことは
なにより広大な大自然の美しさでした。

The thing that most impresses in Hokkaido was vast and beautiful nature.

北海道に行ったらぜひ車を借りて自然の中へゴーです。
ゆったりとした大自然の森の中や時には大海原を横目に
見つつ車を運転するのはとても気持ちがよかったです。

I’d like to recommend to rent a car, if you will go to Hokkaido.
And let’s go in the great nature!

あと時間が許すなら周遊船に乗って海へもゴーです。
水上からの眺めは日頃の視点と全く違い、胸躍るものがありました。

Additionally, if time allows, please enjoy cruising tours.

小樽近郊から出ている、小樽海岸海上観光船からの景色。
＊オタモイ海岸周辺の眺め＋カモメ達を楽しめます。
カモメ達については日記３で。

View from the cruising boat around Otaru.
You can enjoy the view of Otamoi coast and sea gulls.
I’ll tell about sea gulls in the part 3.

＜神威岬への遊歩道からの眺め＞

積丹半島にある名所も訪れました。
神威（かむい）岬と名付けられた岬は駐車場から遊歩道が岬の突端まで
伸びています。道中は両側の眼下に海を見ながら雄大な景色を眺め
つつ歩めるので、少々のアップダウンも飽きることなく進めます。

We visited Kamui cape in Shakotan peninsula.
“Kamui” means “God” in Ainu language.
They are aborigines who lived mainly in Hokkaido and Sakhalin.
We walked up and down walking path to tip of the cape while viewing
the beautiful see spreading out below our eye’s.

岬の先からは海へと伸びる神威岩を眺めることができます。
ここは本当にこの旅一番の感動スポットとなりました。
自然の偉大さに畏敬という気持ちが湧いてきました。
アイヌ語で神威とは神という意味だそうです。そう名付けた気持ち
が胸にしみる景色でした。
また視界に遥かに広がる崖などをみつつここはアイルランドか
ニュージーランドか（行ったことないけど）なロード・オブ・ザ・リング
な気持ちになりました。

We could view the Kamui rocks continuing into the see from the tip of cape.
I thought Kamui cape was the deepest impression spot for me on this trip.
I was struck with awe to the Nature and at the same time I understood
that why Ainu people decided to name “Kamui” meaning God here.

積丹半島にては水中展望船ニューしゃこたん号にも乗りました。
積丹ブルーと呼ばれる美しい海の海底をグラスボートで眺める
ことができます。そこにはウニが大量に・・・お・・おいしそう。
この辺りは禁漁のエリアになっていて厳重に監視されているのだとか。
ここに生まれてよかったね！ウニ。

After that, we enjoyed the cruising around Shakotan cape.

最終日は千歳空港に比較的近い支笏湖に立ち寄りました。
湖までの山道の運転は険しい道でしたが、深い森に囲まれて
マイナスイオンに包まれて、心躍るものでした。
湖畔の周囲４０キロ！ぐるっと回ると飛行機に乗り遅れるので
メインな場所をメインに・・・。
支笏湖にてもお約束の支笏湖観光船にのりました。
日本屈指の透明度を誇る支笏湖。どんよりとした雲の下でも
驚きの美しさをみせてくれました。

And the last day, we stopped in Sikotsu lake by a car.
I drove the car in the deep forest on the way to the lake.
It was so comfortable and relaxed time.
The water in the Shikotsu lake is known as one of the best transparent
in Japan. We took a glass boat and saw the beautiful bottom of the lake.

写真をみてお気づきかと思われますが、今回は蝦夷梅雨と呼ばれる
時期にいってしまったこともあり、ずっと雨ときどき曇りの
どんよりとしたお天気でした。
それでもその霞がかったお天気が返って幻想的だったりして、
なんだかそれはそれでいいもんだな。と思える美しさでした。
すてきだね北海道。

So, I think that you’re already realizing though, it was mostly rain and
occasionally cloudy in Hokkaido this time. However, sea and lake were
beautiful blue. And I felt maybe it was better than sunny? because
everything looked fantastic and mystic.
Well, I think positively

＜小樽は昔の建物が多く残ってます。ここでランチしました＞

遡ること台風が来る１週間前、そう、ちょうど東京が猛暑に
見舞われていた頃「涼」を求めて北海道へ行って参りました。
といっても訪れたのは小樽界隈と札幌界隈。意外と局地的な
旅でした。

We went to around Otaru and Sapporo in Hokkaido 2 weeks
ago to escape from HOT Tokyo. So Hokkaido locates
in the northernmost part of the Japanese Archipelago.

夏の北海道は実は初めてです。
今回は小樽の街について。
小樽の街はかなり昔に冬のスキーツアーのついでに行ったきり。
有名なガラス製品やオルゴール館などを見つつ思い出を確認。
自分が大人になったことも再確認。
おそらく年月が経つうちにかなり観光地化されたのかなぁ。
有名な運河は雪景色の方に１票。

This time, I’d like to mention about Otaru city which we
visited first. There are historical architectures in Otaru.
and the town is known for glass crafts.

＜古い町並み＞

昔はにしん漁で栄えたそうで、その当時たてられた
通称「にしん御殿」旧青山邸と小樽貴賓館にも足をのばしてみました。

Otaru thrived on netting herring in the past.
We visited the palatial house which was built at that time.

毎年お正月に海の幸を送って頂いているお店が小樽にあります。
今回お店の方とついに初ご対面しました。
ものすごく温かく良い方でなんだか嬉しくなりました。
今が旬の食材を選んで出してくださいました。
日頃あまり日本酒は飲まないのですが、今更にして初出会い。
ウニと日本酒ってすごく合うんですね。感動しました。
北海道は食材も美味、人も温かく優しくて、しかも夏は涼しい！
そして何より美しい大自然がある。
夏の避暑地の定番にしたいくらい好きになりました。

＜東京ではあまりお見かけしないシャコ。映画「第九地区」の
クリストファーに何となくにてる・・・もちろん美味しかったです！＞
＜”Squilla” is rarely seen in Tokyo. I thought it looked like Christopher
from the movie “District 9″ (Don’t you think so Myles?)
Of course Christopher was so delicious. ＞

There was one restaurant (Japanese style) which we visited this time.
We are buying form them “delicious” foods from the sea every New year.
At last we could meet an owner of this restaurant first time.
He was so gentle and kind man. He chose for us some sea foods
those are in season. It was so delicious sea urchin especially!
I realized belatedly that sea urchin and Japanese sake are prefect marriage .
In Hokkaido, the food was delicious,people were kindness and it’s cool in summer!
and what’s more, they have The beautiful natural scenery.
I come to like Hokkaido enough to visit every summer.

＜Living Squilla＞

６月の終わりにアーティスト達のマスキングマスクが集められ、
福島の女子高生達の元へと無事送られたそうです。
At the end of June, Masking Masks made by artists were collected
and sent to girl’s high school in Fukushima.

＜それぞれ自分の作品のポストカードなどでメッセージを添えました＞

伝え聞いた話だと、「かわいい」と喜んでくれたのだそうで、
安心しました。
マスクをすることへの意識を高めてもらえればと思い、
今回このプロジェクトに参加しました。
こんなマスク達作ってみました。

I heard that students were pleased and said ” it’s so cute.”
I was relieved to hear that.
I hoped students raise awareness wearing masks,
so I joined this project.

＜my work “an innocent “＞

個展が終わって、はや１週間とちょっとがすぎました。

My exhibition ended over 1 week ago.

お忙しい中、ギャラリーに足をお運び下さった皆様、
本当にありがとうございました。

Thank you for your coming very much.

たくさんの方に作品を見ていただけて、言葉をいただけて、
本当に幸せな１週間でした。いただいた沢山の言葉、
反応は私にとって宝物です。

It was really happy and exciting week.
Words that everyone told me about my works are gems.

＜my work “guardians”＞

ギャラリーに作品を並べるまでの長い間、時間に追われ、
自分を追い込み、必死で制作に没頭しました。

Preparation for my exhibition, I pushed myself to the max
for making my works.

始まってみれば、１週間はあっという間にすぎます。けれど、
そこに至るまでにそそいだ情熱や集中力は新たな進化という化学反応を
作品にきっともたらしてくれたのではないかな、と皆様の
言葉を聞きながら感じることができました。

After starting to hold the exhibition, time goes by with a lighting speed.
However, I want to think that my passion and concentration
I was devoted to making art works has brought about chemical change
called “evolution” maybe. I could have that feeling, when
I heard my guests words.

＜my work “flora June noir”＞

個展までのプロセスの時間、「制作すること」とどれだけ
真摯に向き合えるかが自分が前へ前へと昇華してゆけるか
どうかの答えにつながっているような気がします。
そしてそれはこれからも続いてゆく道です。
まだまだ長いけれど、自分自身どこか楽しみです。

いま、やるべきことをきちんとし終えたら、また次のステップへ！

＊”an innocent”と”guardians”は震災後に制作しました。
「無垢な命」と「家を守る、守り神」そういう作品を少し温かい色で
作りたくなりました。

I made “an innocent” and “guardians” after the disaster 3.11.
About “innocent life” and “guardians who protect a house”,
I wanted to make with warm colors.

工房の友人が福島の女子高生のためのプロジェクト
をたちあげました。
アーティストの皆さん！またまた興味ある皆さん！
マスクをマスキングテープでかわいくデザインして福島に送りましょう！

林陽子銅版画展 – ancient garden-は先週土曜日に無事
終了致しました。多くの皆様のご来場本当にありがとうございました。
個展後の感想などはまた別途書かせていただきます。

My exhibition ended. I’ll write about my exhibition’s impressions
next time. I’m deeply grateful for your coming.

個展ご案内の時のブログに触れさせていただきましたように、
今回、ポストカードの売上を東日本大震災の義援金
として寄付させていただくことにしました。

As I have already noted, this time, I sold my postcards
as donations for the Eastern Japan Great earthquake.
and a lot of people reacted by agreeing to this plan and bought my postcards!

たくさんの方がポストカードを購入して下さいました。
私も少しなのですが、寄付金を加えさせていただきました。

集まった義援金は
￥　５９，１００
にものぼりました。
ポストカードの単価はささやかなものですが、多くの方の気持ちが
集まった結果です。皆様のご協力、本当にありがとうございました。

昨日、無事搬入を終え、かなりホッとしました。
いよいよ今週月曜日から個展がはじまります。
ギャラリーハウスMAYAの皆様に素敵に展示していただきました。

I carried my works in the gallery yesterday.
Finally, my exhibition will start this Monday.
Gallery staffers displayed my works nicely.

並べるまでは作品が足りているだろうかと不安でしたが
ちょうどぴったりでした。こういう計算が何度個展を
やっても苦手です。

I was really relieved when I saw that my works were full
on the wall of the gallery.

なお、今回はとくにオープニングパーティーを予定してないのですが、
初日夕方頃お会いできましたらワインなどお出しするかもです♪

＜かなりきれい目に写しましたが本当は倉庫状態でした＞

今回は家で額装する絵も結構あったので、家での事前準備も
先週は佳境状態で一時倉庫のような状態になりました。

I framed some of my works by myself, so my room
became like a warehouse for a time.

＜Lindtのウサギチョコ。a rabbit chocolate made Lindt ＞

工房の友達のアンドーヒロミちゃんが工房で私の作品に似ている
というLindtのウサギのチョコを「がんばって」と言って
プレゼントしてくれました。
かわいすぎてもったいなくて食べれない！のでオブジェとして
かざっています。

My studio’s friend Hiromi gave me a rabbit chocolate
made Lindt, because it looks like my rabbit.
“Good luck on your exhibition!” she said. Thanks! Hiromi.
I never be able to eat this, because it’s too cute!

「つなみ」という絵本の動画を友人が作りました。
「大地」の作者、パール・バックがテキストを書いたもの
に黒井健氏が絵を描いたものです。

A picture book called “The Big Wave” was written by Peal S. Back.
Illustrations are drawn by Ken Kuroi.

20数年以上前に出版されその後絶版になっていたのだそうですが、
復刊希望の多くの声に再び出版されているそうです。

This book was published over 20 years ago, after that, was out of print.
However, people hope to revive a book, And now a book has revived.

「大地」は未読です。たんたんと深く静かに綴られる言葉。
そっといつも胸のポケットにしまっておきたい。
そんな絵本です。

Depthful words told in quiet.
I’d like to slip it in my pocket always.
This is a picture book of that kind.

さて、いよいよ今週土曜日は個展の搬入日。
いまだ工房で製作中。夜はもろもろの準備！
明日から最後の版の刷りに入ります。うまく刷れるといいなぁ・・・。

Well…finally, my exhibition will start from next Monday.
However, I’m still making my last etching now, and preparing
another things for my exhibition at night!
I’ll try to print my last work from tomorrow.
I hope it goes well
