＜my letter to my grandmother ＞

週末は祖母の100歳記念を総勢25名の親戚一同でお祝いしました。
My all family celebrated our grandmother’s 100th birthday anniversary this weekend.

９５歳頃突然手足が効かなくなった所から見事に復活し、今では散歩はかかしません。
俳句を詠んで、ピアノでソナチネの練習をして絵手紙も描いています。
When she was around 95th, her arms and legs didn’t move suddenly.
However she marvelously made a comeback. Now, she goes for a walk almost every day, not only that
she is practicing piano suite “Sonatine”, composing Haiku (poems consisting of three lines of five, seven
and five syllables) and painting in watercolors.

当日も杖なしでさくさく歩き大きな花束を抱える祖母をみて関心しきりでした。
近くにいるだけでとてもありがたくて幸せな気持ちになりました。
遠くてなかなか会えないのだけれど、どうかいつまでも元気でいて欲しいと心から願いました。

I really want she to be well forever.

I first saw David Lynch’s exhibition at the gallery in Shibuya on the other day.
His lithographs were so excellent and cool.
He produced a short documentary about his art of lithography at the famous Idem Paris atelier.
The sound, the colors, the process, the press machine and even ink stains….
I was fascinated by everything!

デヴィット・リンチのリトグラフ作品を初めて観たのは渋谷ヒカリエにオープンした
ギャラリーででした。これはリンチがパリの石版画アトリエ Idem Parisでの制作工程
を撮影したショートフィルムです。
プレス機から出る音、モノクロフィルムの雰囲気、熟練した刷り師の制作工程、
そしてインクのシミさえも全て素敵です。

リンチのリトグラフのモノクロ作品は具象と抽象と文字とのコラボレーションが
絶妙なバランスでカッコ良く、フィルムの世界をそのままぐーっと素手で
引っ張りだして来たような感じです。感性がそのままベシっと絵画面に
叩き付けられたような。とても良いです。

初詣に成田山新勝寺に週末行きました。

We went to Naritasan Shinshoji temple for Hatsumoude last Sunday.
Hatsumoude means New year’s visits to shrines or temples.

生まれた時から来てると言っても過言ではない成田山。
去年来られなかったので二年分のお礼と新年のお祈りをして
気分スッキリ！です。

It’s not an exaggeration to say that I’m coming Naritasan every year
since the day of my birth. But I couldn’t come here last year so
I gave a prayer of thanks for two years, and prayed for happiness
and good health of my families in the coming year.

Every Japanese has each favorite shrines and temples.
On the other hand, anytime we can freely visit any shrines or temples
when the spirits moved. We are believing that there are
the homes of gods in all beings, things, creations and nature.
So I also went to Kandamyojin shrine near my mothers hospital
a few days later. 🙂

参加しているfacebookなどみてると皆さんそれぞれに
ご贔屓の神社仏閣があるようで面白いです。
そして「縛り」がないところも八百万の神を愛でる日本
のいい所で、同じ週には母病院近くの神田明神にもご挨拶しました。
